The S-76C++, is the latest addition to the best selling S-76 fleet. Deliveries commenced in December of 2005 with certification being achieved on Jan 03, 2006.
The Arriel 2S2 powered S-76C++ offers improved hot/high and OEI performance, engine reliability, operations in dusty environments, 350-450 lb increase in takeoff weight when performance limited with no appreciable increase in empty weight.
Also included is a new VIP interior, full FADEC engine control, Sikorsky's Quiet Zone Technology main transmission and an optional Health and Usage Monitoring System (HUMS).
NEW S-76C++ Features Include:
Turbomeca Arriel 2S2 Engine Upgrade
The dual channel FADEC (DECU) controlled Arriel 2S2 engines provides up to 6.6 percent increase in engine rating over the 2S1, this equates to 450 lb increase in Category A takeoff gross weight at sea level 90F.
Improved Inlet Barrier Filter
In cooperation with Turbomeca, Sikorsky has also developed a new inlet barrier filtration (IBF) system that reduces engine degradation without the power loss normally associated with barrier filters due to re-engineering of the intake flow and includes a filter monitor panel in the cockpit.
New VIP interior
Keystone Helicopters' latest 'Silencer' technology interior offers an updated five/six-person seating arrangement encompassing a sleek, modern, leather interior, with a three/four-person aft-facing bench and two forward-facing captain's chairs.
Quiet Zone Technology
Sikorsky's 'Quiet Zone Gearbox' uses a proprietary technology to superfinish transmission gears, changing the shape of the gears and providing a mirror-like finish that lowers reduces noise in the cabin by 4 dB while increasing gear life and reliability. Using Keystone Helicopters' latest Silencer technology, the new cabin has the lowest interior noise levels of any helicopter in the S-76's class.
Health and Usage Monitoring System (HUMS)
The S-76C++ can also feature a Honeywell VXP HUMS to provide rotor track and balance, drive system monitoring and an option for high-speed shaft monitoring and with 25,000 flight hours proven capability is the best-in-class tool for cost management, efficient maintenance scheduling, and vibration based maintenance delivering improved safety, reliability and life-cycle cost reduction.
